Technical & Professional Programs

SPE-KSA’s Technical & Professional Programs main mission is to:

  • Exchange technical and professional knowledge related to the Oil & Gas industry
  • Provide opportunities for professionals to enhance their technical and professional competencies

Our roles and responsibilities include: Communicating with speakers, handling event logistics, initiating announcements and publicizing for the events. Due to the nature of the events and the high level of execution, team leads and their respective team members are involved in all events. This promotes consistency in how the events are delivered.

The takeaways vary from one person to another, but the biggest impact is that our members are all up to date with regards to what surrounds them in terms of changes in industry and on a national and global scale. Gain hands-on experience in event planning and management, gain technical and non-technical knowledge from subject matter experts and network with members.

Young Professionals

Through an array of immersive programs, the Young Professionals (YP) committee focuses on developing technical, leadership and critical future workforce skills of aspiring young professionals of the energy industry. The team also aims to bridge the gap between young professionals and industry professionals to equip YPs with the knowledge and skills needed to become experts and industry leaders.

The YP committee welcomes all committed volunteers to its different programs, including both recurring and standalone events.

Student Outreach

The Student Outreach’s (SO) mission is to link the Kingdom’s youth with the energy sector. It is the hub for students to network with industry professionals and potential employers to promote the Oil & Gas industry in Saudi Arabia by involving them in technical discussions at SPE-KSA’s meetings and events. Student Outreach also aims to spread knowledge about SPE to students of all ages throughout the Kingdom and across new universities and support existing SPE university chapters.

  • Inspire younger generations to join the industry by exposing them to SPE-KSA activties and devlopment programs.
  • Bridge the gap between academia and professional communities through establishing creative initiatives.
  • Connect students and university faculty memebers across the Kingdom to Oil and Gas companies and their representatives.

Information Technology

The IT team’s objective is to develop, deploy and support technologies that enable the society to effectively reach more people and provide current members with the required platform to take advantage of SPE-KSA’s events and services.

  • Updating the SPE-KSA mobile app, giving members the capability to read and share SPE-KSA articles and events on the go
  • Creating a virtual membership card to benefit from the SPE KSA Loyalty Program
  • Developing SPE-KSA’s internal processes including Public Relations, Treasury and Event Management.

Trips & Social Activities

Manage and oversee the financial affairs of the SPE-KSA section. This includes managing bills and payments, pursuing sponsorships, maintaining solvency, and managing cash flows.

Human Capital Management

Previously known as Diversity and Inclusion (D&I), the Human Capital Management team is a new function which aims to continue advancing the SPE-KSA’s commitment to diversity and inclusion within the Oil and Gas community through advocacy, collaboration, and education.

  • Promote diversity and inclusion in STEM and inspire younger generations

SandRose Magazine

SandRose Magazine is the official publication of the SPE-KSA section which aims to showcase SPE related activities and industry highlights, and to provide a platform to share and exchange knowledge.

  • Highlight the section’s achievements in order to establish a wider presence and increase our follower base
  • Bring attention to the latest industry trends
  • Provide a platform for talented writers to share technical and non-technical articles
  • To promote the oil and gas industry and SPE-KSA to a wider audience

Public Relations

Our team is responsible for the promotion of SPE-KSA’s activities and initiatives to SPE-KSA members and to a wider audience. In addition, PR is tasked with increasing awareness and visibility of SPE-KSA in particular and SPE in general, and staying in touch with the community.

Event Management

Event management is responsible for arranging and coordinating events with large audiences such as conferences and Technical Program’s events. The event management team works on event logistics from deciding on a theme, arranging for catering, sending out invites, and working in conjunction with other SPE-KSA teams to ensure the success of all events across SPE-KSA.

Conference Management

We are a new function that aims to support the various SPE conferences and symposia held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This team will provide support in content creation and development, abstract review, themes, and human-power for SPE conferences and symposia.

  • Enhancing event management skills including time management, effective communication, problem solving…etc.
  • Gain a behind the scenes view of the planning and logistics required of events of this scale (conferences and symposia)
  • Networking with other organizers ,visitors and volunteers

Memberships

The team’s mission is to retain and attract new members to become a part of the SPE-KSA Section by conducting various marketing initiatives and membership awareness campaigns. The membership team also reaches out to companies and individuals across the Oil and Gas industry by capitalizing on the Section’s activities and platforms.

By joining the Membership team, volunteers will have an opportunity to:

  • Connect and network with different Saudi Aramco admin areas,
    and several oil and gas companies Kingdom-wide
  • Connect and network with SPE International and other
    SPE sections
  • Improve financial and accounting acumen through involvement
    in invoicing activities
  • Enhance technical and leadership skills
