Endogenous is a 3-month collaboration program between the SPE Young Professionals and the Student Outreach teams that aims to develop the technical, leadership, and communication skills of young professionals and students in the energy industry.
Throughout Endogenous, participants will be divided into teams consisting of 2 to 5 members. The teams will come up with innovative solutions to solve strategic problems that fall under any of the following categories: Strategy and Development, Operation Enhancement, Sustainability, IR4.0.
The proposed solutions will be reviewed and assessed by subject matters experts (SMEs) specialized in the field in question. Once the proposal is accepted, the participants will work with the SMEs to tackle those challenges and provide feasible solutions.
Finally, the selected projects will be presented on the outskirts of the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC 2020) and the winners will be recognized in the same venue.

Once participants submit their challenges proposal, they will be evaluated by the SMEs. If the experts approve the challenge, the team will be assigned to work hand-in-hand with an SME to tackle the challenge and provide feasible solutions.
All interested applicants should register their ideas by completing and submitting the ideation form, Individual applicants with similar ideas will be grouped together
Ideation must be submitted before December 19
December 26 - January 8
Selected participants will be asked to create a 10 minute cohesive presentation, The presentation should cover the challenged and proposed solution, A recommended format will be provided to the participants.
January 9 – February 13
Participants will be asked to build on their presentations based on the SME’s feedback and mentorship.
Participants will be asked to finalize their presentations based on the SME’s second review and remarks
Participants will have the opportunity to present their innovative solutions in the Endogenous Ceremony

Yes. Individual submissions are permitted but individuals will be grouped together to compete as a team.
I have a solution for a strategic challenge, but it’s not within the sub-categories. Can I submit it?
Yes. Sub-categories are only used for guidance purposes.
What if my solution fits two categories?
You can submit your solution and highlight the primary and secondary strategic challenges.
Do I have to get my company’s approval?
Yes. Company approval for abstracts and presentations must be obtained before submitting it to Endogenous.
